We’ve been involved in the design and development process of the entire user experience ever since Future Finance was just an idea on paper back in 2013. By now it is Europe’s biggest specialist student lender and has secured $450M in funding.

Future Finance, Europe’s biggest specialist student lender, provides competitive tailored loans to students in the UK and Germany whose government loans and bursaries are not enough to cover the cost of higher education. Money shouldn’t be a barrier to a great education, that’s why Future Finance provides student loans that are smart, fair and flexible. The start-up uses big data algorithms to asses the students credit-worthiness.

Okapi and Future Finance first joined forces in 2013 determined to provide students a better experience regarding loans. Moving away from traditional, lengthy, pen and paper loan applications, we’ve used design and technology to reach our goal.

We’ve been involved in the design and development process for both the user application and the internal management platform, bringing to the table our years of experience in building digital products. It was very important to work as closely as possible with the team at Future Finance, combining their financial expertise, user knowledge and market insights with our product development process and design thinking methodologies.

It was a delight seeing the start-up grow from an idea into a successful business, and specially being there to help. By now Future Finance has an established presence in UK and Germany and has secured $450M in funding, looking to expand to other European markets.
